Baseball Game Preview: Falls City Beavers vs. Knippa Crushers

Falls City is a perfect 7-0 against Knippa since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falls City Beavers will face off against the Knippa Crushers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Falls City's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against La Pryor as Falls City made off with a 10-0 win. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Luke Morawietz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Morawietz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Kain Jurgajtis was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Falls City: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Tyler Pawelek also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Knippa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Non Varsity Opponent by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Crushers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Knippa pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Falls City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7.

Falls City took their win against Knippa in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 22-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Falls City since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
