Softball Recap: Southwest Florida Christian Drops Season-High Score on Community School of Naples

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwest Florida Christian). They put the hurt on the Community School of Naples Seahawks with a sharp 24-0 win on Friday. The King's haven't had any issues with the Seahawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Braelyn Davis made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and seven RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Adrianna Thorne was a standout: she scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Candice Chime was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2.

Southwest Florida Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 14.6.

Southwest Florida Christian pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Community School of Naples, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Southwest Florida Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lely at 7:00 p.m. on April 1. As for Community School of Naples, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Mason Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. Mason Classical Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
