Nichols had to settle for second on Friday, but Ross Yoshida sure wasn't going down easily. Yoshida wasn't messing around, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was his eighth straight with one or fewer earned runs.

Coming up, Yoshida and Nichols will challenge Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
