Football Game Preview: Fowler Grizzlies vs. Custer County Bobcats + How To Watch

Fowler has gone a perfect 6-0 against Custer County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Grizzlies will challenge the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Fowler turned things around against Sangre de Cristo on Friday. They breezed past the Thunderbirds to the tune of 66-22. The Grizzlies' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Fowler's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brock True, who rushed for 197 yards and three TDs on only six carries, and Bronson Damgaard, who rushed for 201 yards and four scores on only 11 carries. Those 201 rushing yards gave Damgaard a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Daniel Adams, who rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fowler was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 469 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Fowler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Demetrius Alvarez led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. True got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Custer County hadn't done well against Walsenburg recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bobcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 42-12. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

Fowler's record is now 2-3. As for Custer County, their record now sits at 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Fowler against Custer County when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
