Westland turns things around after tough road loss

There's no place like home for the Westland Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They strolled past Open Door Christian with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 37-20.
Westland had a senior duo take command as Hayleigh Thompson scored 11 points and Alana Rakes scored 9 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least 25% of Westland's points.
Westland's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Open Door Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Westland will be playing at home against Grove City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Open Door Christian, they will square off against Liberty Christian Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
