Preview: Westfield Bombers vs. Pittsfield Generals
The Westfield Bombers will head out on the road to square off against the Pittsfield Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Westfield's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Longmeadow.
Meanwhile, Pittsfield put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Longmeadow 68-34 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Pittsfield has posted yet this season.
Pittsfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Stetz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dezerea Powell, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Westfield bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Pittsfield, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Westfield took a serious blow against Pittsfield in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 60-25. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pittsfield's Kyana Summers, who dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 11 assists, and 12 steals. Now that Westfield knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
