Basketball Game Preview: Western Panthers vs. Perry Meridian Falcons

The Western Panthers and the Perry Meridian Falcons will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Western has six straight victories, Perry Meridian has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Western will bounce into Friday's game after beating Hamilton Heights, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Western came out on top in a nail-biter against Hamilton Heights on Friday, sneaking past 47-45. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Hudson Biggs was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Carter Biggs, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Perry Meridian played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Plainfield, falling 75-50. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.

Western pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Perry Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
