Football Game Preview: Discovery Spartans vs. Avon Park Red Devils

After both having extra time off, the Discovery Spartans and the Avon Park Red Devils will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Discovery nor Avon Park posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Discovery can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home last Thursday. They were outmatched by Auburndale and fell 31-0.

Meanwhile, Avon Park owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance last Friday. They came out on top against Frostproof by a score of 7-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Discovery better focus on containing J'Nariah Anderson and Kamila Watt as the pair were huge in Avon Park's win. Anderson threw for 153 yards on only ten passes, while Watt rushed for 63 yards on only eight carries. Watt was even better on defense, picking up a sack and making four total tackles (2.0 for loss).
