Soccer Game Preview: Freedom vs. Forest Park

The Freedom Eagles will challenge the Forest Park Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Freedom came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Woodbridge, falling 5-0. Freedom's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Forest Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Gar-Field get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Wednesday. Forest Park might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Gar-Field from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Kaylie Scherer led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Forest Park pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those three contests. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-1.

Freedom suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Forest Park in their previous meeting back in April. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Eagles were down 4-1.
