Baseball Recap: North Catholic Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither North Catholic nor Blackhawk made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Trojans fell 7-3 to the Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 8-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Luca Guzowski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

North Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Blackhawk, their record is now 10-4.

While North Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
