Softball Recap: Hamilton County Has No Trouble Against Saint Francis Catholic

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lafayette, Hamilton County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves as the Hamilton County Trojans made off with a 25-10 victory. With that win, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 8.1 runs per game.

Hamilton County let Tayln Johnson and Destini Cherry run wild. Johnson went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Cherry scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance gave Cherry a new career-high in stolen bases. Brooklynn McCary was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Hamilton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .614. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Hamilton County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.3 runs. Saint Francis Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 1-4-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton County will head out to challenge Suwannee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they are taking a road trip to face off against Riverside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on March 20th.
