There's no place like home for the Leake Central Gators , who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 60-59 victory over Newton County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leake Central found their leader in underclassman Ty'lan Fortune, who scored 15 points.
Leake Central's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Newton County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
Leake Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 81-51 loss vs. Choctaw Central on the 8th. Newton County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
