Basketball Game Preview: McKinleyville Panthers vs. North Monterey County Condors

Having just played yesterday, the McKinleyville Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the North Monterey County Condors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. McKinleyville's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so North Monterey County's offense will have their work cut out for them.

It was a proper cat-fight when McKinleyville challenged Marin Academy on Thursday. McKinleyville came out on top against Marin Academy by a score of 39-29. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Wildcats are ranked 474th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Monterey County's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Tuesday. They took a blow against Watsonville, falling 59-29. The game marked the Condors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

McKinleyville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for North Monterey County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
