Softball Game Preview: Northeastern Jets vs. Fairbanks Panthers

For the second straight game, Northeastern will face off against Fairbanks. The Jets will be playing at home against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeastern has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight defeats, while Fairbanks will come in with 12 straight victories.

Northeastern fell victim to Fairbanks and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 8-0.

For Fairbanks' part, Northeastern's batters probably weren't too happy with Macy Kise, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (she gave up three walks).

At the plate, Kyah Hendren was excellent, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Anna Dulle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Fairbanks' win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
