Basketball Recap: Metro Tech Comes Up Short

Metro Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 64-27 defeat at the hands of the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 60-40 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Leading La Joya Community to victory were Donald Sannoh and Isaiah Carter. Sannoh dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, while Carter went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Carter is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Josiah Hale was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Metro Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 1-24. As for La Joya Community, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Metro Tech has already played their next matchup (against Mingus), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. La Joya Community also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Copper Canyon.
