Baseball Game Preview: Coronado Thunderbirds vs. Tivy Antlers

The Coronado Thunderbirds will head out on the road to challenge the Tivy Antlers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Coronado easily dispatched Marshall on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Coronado fell just short of Smithson Valley by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Thunderbirds couldn't push the score so high this time.

Coronado saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Norman Montion, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Tivy came up short against Johnson on Thursday and fell 8-3. The Antlers have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Tivy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Tivy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Coronado hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357.
