Softball Recap: Naperville Central Has No Trouble Against Metea Valley

Naperville Central was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Metea Valley on Monday. The Redhawks blew past the Mustangs 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-3 two weeks ago.

Avery Miller spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Riley Silvers was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Jamie Saran also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Naperville Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They are 10-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Naperville Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Metea Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
