Softball Recap: Eureka Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Eureka hadn't done well against McKinleyville recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Loggers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 12-7. With that win, the Loggers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Mackenze Wolff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bailey Brown, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Violla Kingsang was another key player, going 3-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Eureka kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory (which was Eureka's third in a row) raised their record to 6-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for McKinleyville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Eureka by a score of 19-14 later that day.
