Volleyball Recap: Mercy Mcauley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mercy McAuley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Summit Country Day Silver Knights on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

One reason for the win was Mercy McAuley's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.

Aubrey Blanton was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Mercy McAuley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matchups.

Several Silver Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylee Jewell, who had 13 digs and two assists.

Mercy McAuley's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Summit Country Day, their loss ended an 11-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-4.

Mercy McAuley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Bishop Fenwick on the 9th. As for Summit Country Day, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Cincinnati Christian on the 9th.
