Softball Recap: Marsing Huskies vs. Payette Pirates
Marsing blew Payette out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Payette got their revenge. The Huskies fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 10-8. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Brooklyn Roadenbaugh put in work while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 18 over eight innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
Roadenbaugh wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lily Thoene, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Kylie Goostrey was another, scoring a run and stealing a base.
