Softball Recap: Weehawken Takes a Loss

If Weehawken was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of North Arlington last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rutherford Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Weehawken's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Rutherford, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0-1.

Looking ahead, Weehawken will square off against Harrison at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Tide have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.75 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rutherford, they will challenge Indian Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
