Harrells Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Wilmington Christian Academy. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Crusaders considering their one-run performance the game before.
Makenzie Jackson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Amory Kate Merritt, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Harrells Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilmington Christian Academy struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Grace Christian made easy work of Thales Academy Rolesville on Thursday and carried off a 15-0 victory. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Victoria Thomas made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Addison Kirk looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Olivia Hochevar, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Adison Gardner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Harrells Christian Academy's record now sits at 5-8. As for Grace Christian, their record is now 8-3.
