Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph's Academy Falls Short Against Ranked St. Pius X

St. Joseph's Academy faced St. Pius X in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Angels lost 3-0 to the Lancers. The Angels haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

St. Joseph's Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made St. Pius X work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 27-25, 25-22.

Kathryn Teepe paced St. Joseph's Academy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Teepe got some help from Ashley Eveler and her 29 assists. Finally, Lucy Lynch kept St. Joseph's Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

St. Joseph's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 17-9-1. As for St. Pius X, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Joseph's Academy will face off against Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Pius X, they will venture away from home to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
