Football Recap: Cozad Keeps Holdrege's Under Pressure + How To Watch

If Holdrege wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cozad, they should've done a better job of containing Olliver Davis. The Haymakers claimed a resounding 42-0 win over the Dusters with plenty of help from Davis, who threw for 335 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.0 yards per attempt. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making nine total tackles (1.5 for loss).

Cozad's leading receiver Mathew Arndt was Davis' top target yet again, picking up 149 receiving yards and one score. Arndt showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 65 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Cozad's defense and their five sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Davis and Harrison Edeal, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece. Arndt got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory got Cozad back to even at 4-4. As for Holdrege, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Cozad will square off against Minden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holdrege, they will challenge Chase County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dusters will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
