Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Lutheran Eagles vs. Summit Classical Christian School Archers

Evergreen Lutheran has won three straight games at home, while Summit Classical Christian School has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Evergreen Lutheran Eagles will host the Summit Classical Christian School Archers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Evergreen Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Grace Academy, taking the game 41-29. The 41-point effort marked Evergreen Lutheran's lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Summit Classical Christian School took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging an 81-42 win over Puget Sound Adventist. The Archers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 34 points or more this season.

Summit Classical Christian School's win came from a few key players Evergreen Lutheran will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Will Simon, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jake Gledhill, who went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points and five rebounds.

Summit Classical Christian School has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.4 points. As for Evergreen Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Evergreen Lutheran might still be hurting after the 72-48 defeat they got from Summit Classical Christian School when the teams last played back in December of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Evergreen Lutheran was down 41-21.
