Softball Preview: Brazos Cougars vs. Boling Bulldogs

The Brazos Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Boling Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brazos is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.

After only one run in their last game, Brazos made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hitchcock on Tuesday. Brazos was the clear victor by a 14-8 margin over Hitchcock. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Brazos' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Paige Demny and Ava Aguilar made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Demny struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Aguilar struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
