Basketball Recap: Augusta Christian Comes Up Short

Augusta Christian had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it five. They had to suffer through a 59-21 loss at the hands of the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

As for Batesburg-Leesville, they now have a winning record of 4-3. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Batesburg-Leesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braylen Davis, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshon Chaney, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Augusta Christian has already played their next matchup (against Washington-Wilkes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they will venture away from home to square off against Silver Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 64.1 points per game this season.
