The Ashland Clockers will head out on the road to challenge the Norwood Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ashland will be strutting in after a win while Norwood will be coming in after a loss.
Ashland will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Hopkinton, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Clockers walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Hillers on Monday.
Michael Schreiber and Chris Bratica were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Schreiber pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Bratica pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Ashland is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 6-8 otherwise. At the plate, Schreiber went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Bratica got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Sodaberg, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Devin O'Brien was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Ashland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Norwood came up short against Medfield on Tuesday and fell 5-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ashland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Norwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Ashland skirted past Norwood 1-0 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clockers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
