Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Burke

Burke had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Gregory Gorillas. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

In the three sets Burke was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 27-29, 25-14, 25-8.

Emmie Hausmann paced Burke's offense, picking up 18 kills. Hausmann were helped by Breckynn Pistulka and Emmy Spencer, who contributed 15 assists each. Brianna Davis controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Burke's victory bumped their record up to 24-2. As for Gregory, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Burke will venture away from home to take on Gayville-Volin at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gregory, they will face off against Kimball/White Lake at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
