Volleyball Recap: Sanger West Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sanger West had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Madera South Stallions by a score of 3-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their six-match losing streak.

Sanger West was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 16-25, 26-24.

Sanger West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maximus Inboon out in front who had 22 digs. That's the most digs Inboon has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jayden Vang, who had 20 assists and six digs.

Despite the defeat, Madera South saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emiliano Flores had 41 assists and 11 digs. Flores has been hot, having posted 14 or more assists the last six times he's played.

Sanger West's victory bumped their record up to 24-15. As for Madera South, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 16-21.

Looking ahead, Sanger West will venture away from home to square off against Madera at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madera South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
