Basketball Recap: Phalen Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

Phalen Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 50-20 loss at the hands of the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers. The Falcon were probably out for revenge after losing 47-36 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tiana Starayev continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Indiana School for the Deaf, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. Starayev is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Leokadia Saunders was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

Phalen Leadership Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Phalen Leadership Academy will challenge Cincinnati at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, they will square off against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Indiana School for the Deaf is facing Irvington Preparatory Academy at the right time seeing as Irvington Preparatory Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
