Football Recap: Maynard's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

Maynard proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 22) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Oxford Pirates 15-14.

When it comes to explaining why Oxford lost, don't look at Jack Grenier. Despite the final result, he rushed for 96 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.

Maynard's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Oxford, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Maynard and Oxford will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Tigers see the field they'll take on West Boylston/Tahanto at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Oxford, their break will end when they face Millbury at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
