The Ledford Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell 42-29 to Wheatmore. Ledford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wheatmore apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Despite the loss, Ledford saw an underclassman step up: Izzy Smith dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Ledford has fallen quite a ways from their 20-6 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Wheatmore, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ledford won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully West Davidson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Friday. Wheatmore won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Central Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Central Davidson is ranked 219th, while Wheatmore is ranked 197th).
