Baseball Recap: Merryville Comes Up Short

Merryville lost against Grand Lake last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Hornets, falling 14-2. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Merryville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blaze Brister, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Merryville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Grand Lake, they pushed their record up to 22-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Merryville will take on Lake Arthur at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grand Lake, they will square off against Bell City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
