Volleyball Recap: Eastlake Takes Down Ranked Lovejoy

Eastlake faced Lovejoy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Falcons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Leopards, sneaking past 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Thursday.

Kenzie Rogers and Avery Gray certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Rogers had 14 digs and three assists, while Gray had ten digs and one assist.

Eastlake is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. As for Lovejoy, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.

Eastlake has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against O'Connor on the 30th. As for Lovejoy, they will challenge Bishop Lynch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
