Basketball Game Preview: Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders vs. Visitation Blazers

The Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders and the Visitation Blazers will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Cretin-Derham Hall earned a 62-54 victory over Woodbury. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Royals are ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Visitation, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat St. Louis Park 70-28. The Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season.

Visitation is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.5 points. As for Cretin-Derham Hall, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Cretin-Derham Hall came up short against Visitation when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 68-64. Can Cretin-Derham Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
