Volleyball Game Preview: Anderson Raptors vs. Mason Comets

The Anderson Raptors will head out on the road to take on the Mason Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Anderson had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt West Clermont on Thursday. The Raptors were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wolves.

Anderson didn't let West Clermont take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 27-25, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Mason got the win against Turpin on Saturday by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mason took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-15.

Anderson better focus on containing Declan Mulvin and Logan Zemberi as the pair were huge in Mason's win. Mulvin had 28 assists and two aces, while Zemberi had five digs and four aces. That's the most assists Mulvin has posted over his last five contests.

Mason was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Anderson's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Mason, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
