Baseball Recap: Rosewood Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

It's playoff time, and Rosewood had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let East Wake Academy get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Rosewood has posted since March 27th.

The result came thanks to Robbie Boren's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rosewood's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cuyler Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Rosewood's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for East Wake Academy, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4.

Coming up, Rosewood will head out to challenge Voyager Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.4, the Vikings 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. East Wake Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
