Football Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Riverview lost against Durant back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sharks were just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to the Cougars.

Despite the loss, Riverview had strong showings from Carter Peternell, who threw for 181 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.2% of his passes, and Alex McPherson, who picked up 70 receiving yards.

Durant was led to victory by Sam Themar and King Rivera. Themar threw for 179 yards and one TD, while Rivera picked up 45 receiving yards and one score.

Riverview's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Durant, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverview will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bartow at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Durant, they will venture away from home to face off against Newsome at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
