Basketball Game Preview: Hylton Bulldogs vs. Brooke Point Black Hawks

The Hylton Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Brooke Point Black Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row dating back to last season, Hylton turned things around against Osbourn on Wednesday. They strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 51-35. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Bulldogs were the (much) better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hylton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Sylla, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Amari Butler was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Hylton was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Brooke Point had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Panthers out 62-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Black Hawks have posted since January 26th.

Brooke Point's record is now 5-3. As for Hylton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Hylton came up short against Brooke Point when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 45-40. Can Hylton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
