Basketball Game Preview: Coal Ridge Titans vs. Meeker Cowboys + How To Watch

Coal Ridge has gone a perfect 4-0 against Meeker recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. Coal Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.8 points per game this season.

Meeker will be up against a hot Coal Ridge team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Titans' way against Battle Mountain on Thursday as they made off with a 76-50 victory. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Coal Ridge's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Alex Cornejo, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 19 points along with six assists and three steals, and Diego Gamez, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten steals. Those ten steals gave Gamez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gio Parker, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Coal Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Meeker took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake County, sneaking past 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cowboys have posted since January 17th.

Coal Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Meeker, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Everything came up roses for Coal Ridge against Meeker in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, as the team secured a 68-33 victory. In that matchup, the Titans amassed a halftime lead of 36-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
