Baseball Recap: Rich Township Has No Trouble Against Thornton

Rich Township won the last time they faced Thornton and things went their way on Monday too. The Raptors were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Raptors, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jett Roman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over 5.2 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Brandon Bankhead was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten matchups.

The win made it two in a row for Rich Township and bumps their season record up to 9-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Thornton, they moved to 9-9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Rich Township will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
