Basketball Recap: Alcuin Takes a Loss

Alcuin lost against Garland Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Alcuin Hawks were beaten by the Garland Christian Academy Swordsmen 66-37. The Hawks were down 51-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Alcuin lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Spencer Smith, who posted 11 points. Samuel Bashour was another key player, putting up eight points.

Jackson Vinson went supernova for Garland Christian Academy, going 10 for 21 to rack up 24 points and four steals. Those 24 points gave Vinson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Tiet, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine steals.

Alcuin's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Garland Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Alcuin nor Garland Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
