Basketball Recap: Onalaska Takes a Loss

If Onalaska was riding high fresh off their 102-24 takedown of Wells on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats were beaten by the Alexandria Trojans 82-55 on Saturday.

Onalaska lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Spencer Green, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 18 points along with six assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Patrick Roth, who posted 17 points.

Alexandria's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarvell Bordelon, who went 12-for-19 to rack up 25 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Bordelon now owns an excellent 51.1% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshawn Duncan, who made all 9 shots he took racking up 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Onalaska's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Alexandria, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Onalaska will challenge Tarkington at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Alexandria, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Holy Savior Menard at 6:00 p.m.
