Grosse Pointe North proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 52) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by Lake Shore 14-13. The win continues a trend for the Norsemen in their matchups with the Shorians: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Fitzgerald put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Warren Woods-Tower 61-0. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Grosse Pointe North's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Fitzgerald, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
