Recap: Pepperell Dragons vs. Trion Bulldogs
If the Pepperell Dragons were feeling good off their 85-52 takedown of the Dalton Academy Pumas last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pepperell was the victim of a tough 64-43 defeat at the hands of Trion on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Pepperell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while Trion is ranked 181st).
Despite the loss, Pepperell still got an impressive performance from Chris Fife, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Fife hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Lockwood, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Pepperell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Trion, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pepperell will take on Unity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Trion, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Armuchee at 8:30 p.m. Armuchee will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
