Softball Recap: Mathews Comes Up Short

Mathews was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 23-2 to the King William Cavaliers. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 8-0 to the Cavaliers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mathews' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for King William, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mathews will venture away from home to face off against Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for King William, they will head out to square off against Caroline at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Caroline will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
