Basketball Game Preview: Manning Monarchs vs. East Clarendon Wolverines

Manning and East Clarendon are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Manning Monarchs will welcome the East Clarendon Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Manning's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while East Clarendon has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Manning is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 7, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Lake City, falling 59-38.

Meanwhile, East Clarendon managed to keep up with Marion until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. East Clarendon lost 49-29 to Marion.

Manning will need focus on slowing down Cherish Cochran, one of several East Clarendon players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points. Jasmyne Lloyd was another key player, putting up seven points.

Manning's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for East Clarendon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Manning came up short against East Clarendon when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 38-29. Can Manning avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
