Volleyball Preview: Wheaton Academy Warriors vs. Central Rockets
Wheaton Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Central Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Wheaton Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Forest, taking the game 2-0.
Meanwhile, with a playoff game on the line, Central rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rockets.
Central's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Vernon Hills between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.
Central had a senior duo take command as Brianna Gritzman had six digs and six aces and Sarah Jack had four aces and three digs. Those four aces gave Jack a new career-high.
Wheaton Academy's record now sits at 27-6. As for Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.
