Basketball Game Preview: Hornbeck Hornets vs. Ebarb Rebels

The Hornbeck Hornets will head out to face off against the Ebarb Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ebarb took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hornbeck, who comes in off a win.

Hornbeck is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 79-34 victory over Stanley. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Hornets with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Ebarb took a blow against Fairview on Tuesday, falling 73-38. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Panthers are ranked seventh).

Hornbeck is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Ebarb, their loss dropped their record down to 15-20.

Everything came up roses for Hornbeck against Ebarb in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 54-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hornbeck since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
